31 BBA students were given a unique opportunity to attend the Race Team of the Future Education Day at Donington Park, a premier motorsport venue in the UK. The event provided students with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the world of motorsport, offering a hands-on experience that blended both education and excitement.

The day began with students trying out state-of-the-art racing simulators, allowing them to experience the thrill of racing without leaving the ground. Following this, they were given a guided tour of the garages where the preparation for Sunday’s race was in full swing. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to witness the high levels of precision and teamwork involved in getting race cars ready for competition.

One of the highlights of the day was a meet-and-greet with Jake Hill, the current UK Touring Car Champion. Students had the chance to ask questions, learn about his career journey, and hear about what it takes to succeed in the world of professional motorsport. Jake’s insights were invaluable, and many students left feeling inspired by his dedication and achievements.

In the afternoon, the students were tasked with designing their own Race Team of the Future. They worked in teams to create logos, develop team branding, choose drivers, and determine team roles and attributes. This creative exercise encouraged collaboration and innovation, as students were given the freedom to envision their ideal race teams. The afternoon session not only fostered teamwork but also allowed students to apply their problem-solving and design skills in a real-world context.

As an added bonus, one of the student teams was awarded tickets to return to Donington Park in August, where they will have the chance to attend a live race event. This exciting prize was a fitting conclusion to what was a memorable and enriching day for all participants.

The event was made possible through the generous support of MBP, whose contribution helped bring this valuable experience to life. Both students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the day, and it sparked a renewed enthusiasm for motorsport and innovation among everyone involved.

This educational experience provided students with a deeper understanding of the motor sport industry and the various career opportunities it offers. It also reinforced the importance of teamwork, creativity, and dedication—qualities that will serve them well in their future careers, no matter the field.
