Allergy Aware
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for every child we are now an Allergy Aware School.
We have a number of pupils and staff with severe allergies, some of which can cause life‑threatening reactions. Allergic reactions can be triggered not only by eating certain foods, but also by contact with small traces on hands, tables, or shared equipment. By working together, we can significantly reduce the risks for these children and ensure that school remains a safe place for everyone.
We kindly ask for your support with the following actions:
- Do not send in foods containing nuts or nut products
- Check ingredient labels carefully
- Remind children to wash their hands before coming to school and after eating
- Talk to your child about the importance of not sharing food
- If your child has any allergies or dietary needs, please ensure we have up‑to‑date medical information which must be updated via Arbor.
- If your child requires emergency medication in school such as an Adrenaline Auto‑Injector it is essential that the academy holds this medication on site in case of an emergency. Please ensure the medication is brought into the school office, where you will be asked to complete the necessary form. Medication must be kept up to date, so we ask parents to review expiry dates regularly and replace items when needed.
