BBA stands not only for Bluecoat Beechdale Academy, but also for our motto: Belong, Believe, Achieve. These three words define who we are and what we expect for every pupil in our care.
Pupils show that they belong by wearing their uniform with pride, attending school regularly, and taking an active part in the wide range of enrichment, leadership and wider‑school opportunities available to them. They demonstrate that they believe in themselves and others by having high expectations, strong aspirations, and confidence in their academic and personal development. Pupils achieve through their commitment to learning, both in the classroom and beyond, showing pride in their effort and progress.
Alongside our motto sit our core values of positivity, resilience, kindness and curiosity. These values ensure that our pupils develop the attributes that not only make successful learners, but also well‑rounded young adults who are ready to take their place confidently in the world when they leave BBA.
Our pupils are polite, respectful and courteous. We insist on the daily use of our mindful STEPS to politeness, which are embedded as a habit across the academy and help to create a calm, respectful and welcoming environment for all.
